Alla Prima ~everything I know about painting~ by Richard Schmid?....I was looking at this book recently and just loved his loose sketchy style with oil paint on some of the paintings in the book. I've never read this book all the way through, but often go to specific chapters and become inspired....this one looks a lot like this style ...... loose sketchy oil study... Don't keep us in suspense!!!!! Maggie
Just sat down and looked through it again... some of his paintings are as loose as watercolours.... also love his colour mixing charts. One of these days I will read it from cover to cover. I understand the dvd is good also, although I couldn't afford it when I bought the book. I think I recently read a blog post (underpaintings???? blog) where a class with schmid was documented. Rene, hope to see lots more of your paintings like this one.
Was it the book "paint by numbers"? :)
