Utrecht, Holland.

Here an other one from my "Utrecht" day.
Utrecht has a nice little water running through it,
with all kinds of little bars and restaurants, .. on the Sunny
side that is, ... so on the other side it's nice and quiet.

Bit to exhausted to write a little,
so I just post one of today's effort.
As you can see I spent my day in Utrecht.

Again one from the harbour near Arnhem.

I painted this one on the gangway from the ship I painted
a few month ago, ... > here <

"Captain Thijs." Holland.

It wasn't a paint out what I was thinking about, .. more a meeting of
artists who wanted to do something about or with this area that's gonna change
a lot soon. They are planning to build a concrete-factory here.

I am not so much of an demonstrator I am more a painter trying to make people
aware of all the nice stuff surrounding them.

The title refers to that little orange spot, on the little boat, with the artists
on it. Thijs the son of the guy who invited me was standing at front just like a
real captain.

Welcome to the grey world of eastern Holland, .... hehehe.
It's a bit difficult to get going again here, .. but I've found this
nice scene, and while painting it a fellow came rowing and invited
me to a paint-out this Saturday in the same area, ... so what do you want more?!

Due that I want to get my car ready for the summer,
I am unable to paint for a few days, so I post the other
work i made in "the west"

Irrigating colors. Holland.

Here the third one of my trip to the west-side of Holland.
Unbelievable that the are irrigating, while living 5 meters under Sea level!
anyway, it gave a nice focusing point.

"Rode morgen." Holland.

So here an other from "De Bollenstreek" made in the morning,

It's soo hard to get the colors right, when they keep changing so
fast, from deep red to bright orange and form almost dark to almost
white, ... and that also nearby as well as in the distance.

The other great problem was the direction, towards the Sun everything
except red changes somewhat in a grey color, and with the Sun everything
is sooo bright and of course your palette is in full light. Umbrella's won't work
because it's nearby see so there is much to much wind.

Tomorrow more.

Not one tulip in sight. Holland.

Just back form a few days painting in the west of Holland.
the so called "Bollenstreek" Guess it has to do something
with all those bulbs they are growing over there, ....

It has been a exhausting few days, ... but I learned sooo much.

I tweaked these a bit, exaggerated the light here and there.
and tried to get the mood a bit more to how I felt it should be,
or was at the time I painted it.

the great thing about it is, that's it is so near. So I have a new
pool of painting just around the corner! A great spot to visit in autumn
someday.

So that's it I am off for a few days, ...

Rent a cabin in Schaijk again to paint,
and I'll be back Sunday, ... hopefully with some new work.

Tweaked it a bit in my studio to emphasize the light a little more.
