"Langs de kant." Loowaard, Holland.

Guess what?
The day before yesterday I received a new book about painting.

Yesterday I just had to try this approach, ...
Any idea which book it is??

"Langs de kant." Loowaard, Holland.

Alla Prima ~everything I know about painting~ by Richard Schmid?....I was looking at this book recently and just loved his loose sketchy style with oil paint on some of the paintings in the book. I've never read this book all the way through, but often go to specific chapters and become inspired....this one looks a lot like this style ...... loose sketchy oil study...
Don't keep us in suspense!!!!!

Excellent book, I'm reading it for the 2nd time, very inspirational and every time I'm seeing new things. Nice painting by the way.

Indeed it is Richard Schmid, I haven't finished it yet but it's very intriguing so far

Just sat down and looked through it again... some of his paintings are as loose as watercolours.... also love his colour mixing charts. One of these days I will read it from cover to cover. I understand the dvd is good also, although I couldn't afford it when I bought the book. I think I recently read a blog post (underpaintings???? blog) where a class with schmid was documented. Rene, hope to see lots more of your paintings like this one.
