"On track." Holland.

Right through Westervoort, (my hometown) runs a railroad track.
high above on a dike, so you can't see it from the town.
But when climbing up that dike it's a marvelous spot to paint.
Between all the dog-shit that is, many people walking their dogs there.

Westervoort doesn't have a station, ... yet.
Although their are still people who are getting on train there.
Noticeable by the many notes and flowers that are lying there as well.

"On track." Westervoort, Holland.
Oil on board. 24 x 30 cm.

This painting is intriguing. It gives me a comment on the "infinate-ness" of life...and it is serene and peaceful. I like the low- key colour, combined with the caligraphy of the train tracks & posts.

Rene, you are hilarious. I love that dry sense of humour - it's very English. I particularly like this painting, its got a good feeling, the distant perspective but then I've always loved the mystery of railways and train travel. It's got a good feeling

Mooi, mooi, mooi, and that goes for all your recent paintings here. Man, you are braving it in that cold Dutch weather!
I'm sticking to studio painting right now....

Are the trains really "on track" these days? I heard some rumors... Never mind, this is a wonderful painting, with its perspective and those overcast skies, very novemberish... great work!

Wonderful space and atmosphere in this one. You really make us feel like we are looking for miles. That is one sign of a great artist.
