"Sterrenmakerij Bennik." Arnhem.

To cold and drizzling grey weather today, ...
you have no idea how frustrating that can be sooo enormously grey!
A nice day to go to a place that I had in mind for these kind
of days, the owner was busy welding some kind of fence together
with his companion, .. a lovely afternoon it was nice quiet and cosy.

"Station Arnhem Centraal." Arnhem.

I really was amazed that I could stand on a stage for two
hours without some professional asking what I was doing.
But it did gave a nice view and with the melting snow a nice
scenery.

Cold though.

"Laatste sneeuw." Velp, Holland.

Painted this Cafe earlier but I thought with all this
snow, it just had to be a lovely sight, ... and it is. (I think.)

It was very slippery this morning though i even crashed with my bike
and bent my steering, .. bugger!

Anyway it's still a lovely morning with some last snow.

"Laatste morgen." Eibergen.

Didn't feel like painting today, although it was lovely white outside.
So here one from last weekend.

I cleaned my palette instead and edited brunt Umber to my Kevin Macpherson
palette. I couldn't stand the time that it took to mix colors
painting sunsets and sunrises, it just took too long.

and see a winter-wonderland!!

"Nog steeds overeind." Arnhem.

This building I had so long in the picture, ... it's quite a lonely building
surrounded by all kinds of industrial stuff.
Now that they have cut down some trees surrounding it it 's even more obvious
that it's gonna be disappear soon.

Sometimes it's almost a run against time to paint all those lovely old buildings
and country sides before they change it, again and again and again.

Yeah Holland isn't Holland anymore, they better can call it

"The Netherlands."

Due to some personal stuff I couldn't get out today.

But what a luck to find > this< interview from Michael Chesley Johnson over nocturnes.

To be honest it's doesn't look nice but the ships are still there

"Mother and child." Nijmegen.

Went to Nijmegen this afternoon to visit a fellow artist.
He had a new studio and I just had to see that!
(Mine is a whole lot bigger b.t.w.)

But crossing the Waal, I noticed all kind of boats
in the harbour, so I immediately knew where to paint.

Autumn is almost over, it's been windy here in Holland

into eternity.

Nocturne

One positive thing about light pollution is that you can paint
almost everywhere, ... the only thing to keep in mind is to
keep you palette as limited as possible and that you stay in
a relative white light, now a days much of the streetlight in Holland
are high pressure mercury lights reddish that is, ....
