"Daar waar hemel en Aarde samenkomen, daar dartelt de lente rond."
That was what I was thinking while painting this, this afternoon.
Free translated;
"Over there where the sky reaches the Earth there spring is jumping around."
This text is mainly from a song by the band "De Kift."

Burgers Zoo. Arnhem, Holland.
It is still horrible grey around here, ... and today
I thought why not make the best of it by sketching in a zoo?
It was way more tricky then I thought, but well worth it.
Here is a compilation of the mammals, I have also one of the fish,
but that ones for tomorrow.
Sepia and pencil on chamois yellow 300grms paper.

So sorry, ... a boat, ... again!
I think I have become addicted, maybe I should seek counseling?
But then again Liza Hirst is painting houses for ages now, hehehe.

"Oud maar levend." Arnhem, Holland.
Hey no boats today?!
Nope not today, although I painted one, but it's not
yet finished. So tomorrow a boat again.
This is made in the floodplains of the Rhine though.
These are ancient willows, hopefully I will be able to paint
those in the background also one day.

"Drijvend landschap." Westervoort, Holland.
It is soaking wet outside, snow, rain, wind & everything together
and I thought painting under a bridge would help, ... no way!
At least it gave a splendid reflection in the puddles that where forming,
all muddy as well, ... wonder how Sarah Wimperis came up with that title?!

"Nieuw stekkie! " Arnhem, Holland.
Wow, what a great world this is!!
First I went to visit Eric Janssen, a fellow artist
here in Arnhem living on the boat "Valér"
He asked me if I did know that little spot on the other side
of Arnhem? I didn't so he explained where it was.
Rushed over there and what do you know, A WHOLE NEW PAINTING SPOT!!!
I was happy like a child that got a gift, ... Eric thanks!!

"Tussen het roer." Nijmegen, Holland.
Been lucky today, had a splitting headache and been nauseous
the whole day. What's lucky about that? Easy it was drizzling grey weather
the whole day, not even worth watching out of the window and I was lucky that
I was able to paint two painting yesterday.
So here it is, ... the first one from yesterday.
