The crossroads. Holland.

A nice little morning @home, after a great bike tour yesterday.
This spot is a junction of 8 roads and a railway bridge.
"Het kruispunt." Westervoort. Holland.
Oil on board. 9 x 12"

I really admire your ability to capture the feeling of the region. I keep looking at your work and saying I need to get outside more. Thanks for the daily inspiration.

Your palette is delicious. I commend you for your risk taking in keeping your colors muted. It's a difficult thing for myself, but you really seem to get a lot of your subjects with it!

We were in Holland last week (se my Introspection blog) and were reminded of the fact that it can rain a lot and for days on end! Believe it or not, you forget that after 8 years here...
I see that despite the rain you kept on painting - and some wonderful landscapes at that! The landscape around Nijmegen is very familiar to me as I have family there and we used to tour the 'uiterwaarden' near the river or the woods whenevr we would visit. I love seeing that back in your paintings!
