Shipyard Bennik. Holland.

Been here so often, and while biking over the bridge to
Arnhem you can see this little shipyard, so every time
I am looking if there is something interesting going on.
I noticed this ship a few days ago and I just had to
visiting it.

This ship gonna get a bow thruster.
Bit straight forward, drill a whole right through
the hull place a pipe in it
and fit a screw inside the pipe, ...

If every thing was as easy as you can tell, ...

Anyway here is the painting.

"Op het droge." Arnhem, Holland.
(On dry ground.)
Oil on board 24 x 30 cm.
(sold)

And the setup:

Rene, this is a wonderful painting. I like the depth of colour in the hull of the boat and the marks at the front representing the grasses etc. The whole thing just works so well.

Rene, What a great composition! I love it when artists don't do the obvious portrait style composition, which I inevitably do myself. You see things in an abstract way. Thanks for the inspiration and the lesson.

I like the connection of your dark shapes in this painting Rene.

Rene, I love your depictions of the typical dutch boat. The photo of your other in the rains is wonderful also. I have very much enjoyed your paintings.

This past weekend I had the a wonderful time with friends from Den Ham, OV who were attending my uncle 50th wedding anniversary in Canada. Nice to see friends from the "old country". Cheers.
