Made this one Friday afternoon.
I saw it so often and always knew I gonna paint it someday.
It's quite a challenge because there is much to much to paint
and in real it's a bit larger that wouldn't work in the composition
so I cranked it all a bit. Gives a nice cartooning look though.
"Vijf op een rij." Velp, Holland.
(Five in a row.) Oil on panel.
24 x 30 cm.

This house must be drunk. It is leaning to the right. ;-)
Es ist immer wieder ein Freude Deine Bilder zu sehen.
Ciao...Nü
René, I love this, it is a wonderful example of gesture in architecture! people think I'm crazy when I say buildings and other inanimate objects have gesture, but they do. I can feel how they are standing there, leaning a bit as old buildings do, but with strength. very good painting!
Hahahaha Stefan, maybe it wasn't a good idea to drink on each of the houses, ...
Dank für deine anmerkungen.
Your soo right Kullaf, I even would go further, many houses have a personality as well. These five are soo bound to each other but also soo different, like old ladies drinking tea by a hairdresser.
Looking at the enlargement of your painting, i do think some ghosts are deffinitely dwelling on those lower floors. Fun!
Very ambitious for a plein air. Great work and as kullaf said, great gesture. I too see the ghosts. Super!
So your also doing facades, René! I envy your looseness - I'm learning from you - thanks! This is a fun painting. I agree on houses having their own personality, and they reflect the owner's personality as well. That's something I am trying to capture in my house paintings.
