nice to see you working with a light 'figure' on a dark ground, which is the inverse of what you have recently been doing(black figure on light ground).
it also seems to my eye that the accent strokes in the grass appear more delicate as light over dark (those pesky winter branches so dark against the grey sky).
Yes a little over underexposed, the Sun went down. I will shoot another tomorrow. Maybe tweaking it as well a bit more because I still don't like the second Geese They are looking more like geecks or duesse if you know what I mean
The shape and colour of the bodies of the birds look fairly good to me. I think maybe I would move the feet forward a bit to put them under the centre of balance. The necks might look better if they were slightly thinner just below the head.
try painting chicken rene,they blend in better with the background anyway they are not that bad,just need a bit more work,do a few more and i'm sure you get the hang of it!
What a departure for you René! I am told that it is good to work outside your "comfort zone". You sure are comfortable with boats, let's see what you can do with birds.

A mix of duck and geese for that matter.
