"Hoog en droog." Arnhem, Holland.

Guess this is the last one for a while, tomorrow
I am heading off for a few days Autumn painting in
a cabin, without Internet and TV, just some great books
about art, hehehe.

For those who wanna to know which books:

Richard Schmid: All I know about painting.
David Curtis: A Light Touch: Painting Landscapes in Oils.
Kevin Macpherson (again): Fill Your Oil Paintings With Light and Color.
Trevor Chamberlain (always): Oil Painting Pure and Simple.

So enough to drool the cabin full.

Take care.

Those are nice books.
Probable 1 would be sufficient but it never hurts to have a choice. Enjoy your stay and thanks again for visiting my blog.

Néh only one book would spoil my work-week. Kevin and Trevor would do, ... but I'll go nuts, with guys like Richard and David, ... much too imposing.

Thanks Erik.

I recently read The painterly approach by Bob Rohm which I also liked, not as densely packed with info as those other books but a good read nonetheless..

Ow yeah also a great one, ... the funny part is that he's left handed and the first time I saw his palette it did felt soo strange hehehe.

But comparing it, I would rather have Kevin's book

Must look for the Trevor Chamberlain book. I already have one of his on watercolours.

There are two books of him Keith,
both well worth to have,

"Oils" from Ron Ransons painting shool.

And

"Oil Painting Pure and Simple" also from Ron Ransons.

Both you have to look for on Amazon or Ebay they are not in print anymore I think.

Good hunting, but the gain is well worth it.

Just ordered the Oil Painting Pure and Simple and A Light Touch: Successful Painting In Oils based on your recommendations, looking forward to it. I agree the Kevin McPherson books contain a wealth of information and are easy to read. I also liked Richard Schmids old landscape book though the price is hefty and most illustrations are black and white.
