I agree with you about a forest being very hard to paint but I think you did really good here.
Also thanks for the book tips in a previous post, I found 2 second hand via Amazon at a really good price and I'm reading the David Curtis book at the moment. Great read.
Beautifully done Rene. You've captured the feeling of a forest so well. Fantastic green in the foreground too.
Wonderfull soft edges.
I love it :D
Your paintings all capture the subtle overcast! So many artists love strong sunlight--but your paintings are genius because they do not rely on the sun for their beauty. They are at a deeper level of what is pretty. They are like a really good book that lets the reader really absorb the "character development". Bravo...as always!
I admire the way you tackle any subject. I'm still a bit apprehensive when some scenes demand a lot of detail. I've ordered the 2 Ron Ranson oil books you mentioned earlier. He's my hero in watercolour and I've watched countless videos but I've yet to see his work in oils. Wishing you the very best of luck with your paintings.
Best Regards
Steven
But hey! you tried and you succeeded!
Great atmosphere René!
