"Hermsen voor het laatst." Westervoort, Holland.

Guess this will be the last time I can paint this
lovely building, it's a building from the 30's I
think and stands on a very prominent spot between
two rivers. (Rhine and the IJssel) You can see this
building from almost everywhere and it's definitely
marks the spot as being a mark on itself as well.

I will miss this lovely building, and for me
it will make me think that in the Netherlands
not much things are kept to get old anymore.

"Hermsen voor het laatst." Westervoort, Holland.
(Hermsen for the last time.) Oil on panel.
24 x 30 cm.

I painted this building several time, so a short review.

Bye little friend, ... thanks.

It's a pity, that these old things cannot fall by themselves anymore in this fast times... but it makes your naturaly toned paintings more precious!

Oh, these are all lovely. I love the newest painting. The sky is so vast with the low horizon line. I also love the smoothness of the water and the reflections. It's a shame that it will no longer be standing, but it will always live in your paintings!

Thanks Rudhi, Sil and Erin.

Falling by themselves, ... only that sentence is worth a lot!

Can you smell the spring Sil? I can!

It isn't only the smoothness of the water Erin, it's a thin layer of water on top of the ice form this winter.

Rene..I love the 'warmth' that you have given this painting. It is befitting an 'old friend' and your sincere last goodbye.

It is truly sad how little respect most accord our past in these fast moving throwaway times.

Not to end on a sad note, Rene. I suggest that we keep moving.
... We could be next. ;~)

Keep well.

Too bad that house is going to vanish. It's a good thing you've captured it in several paintings.
