A day in the woods. Arnhem, Holland.

Finally a summer day at least that's what I gonna remember of it.
Biked to the Veluwe today, a large wood and grass park the largest
in the Netherlands to be precise.

"Langs de koningsweg." Arnhem, Holland.
(Along the Kings road.)  Oil on panel. 24 x 30 cm.

"Roozendaalse veld." Arnhem, Holland.

These two seem a bit different for you. I like the depth and tonal values of the first one. The second one has a lovely cool grey light.

Hello René, your plein air works are just amazing, and they reflect the late 19th century European impressionistic atmosphere. We are featuring you on our blog - the latest post (July 27, 2011), and You are now on our "Artists to Watch" list for potential collectors!!!
So be sure to check it out!

René, your paintings are becoming more and more atmospheric, wonderful!
I am again impressed, as usual, of your ability to produce such dense paintings with so few shades of colour!

Thank you all for the warm comments.

Indeed Keith I just thought I have to paint some woods and across this heather I thought of you're latest work, ... thanks!

What a nice surprise "Art collector's corner" I am very pleased thank you.

Dankje Carry.

Thank you to Liza, coming from you is appreciated even more!

Indeed Jim, I think mainly because I try to getting used to paint with the light, while my panel and palette is also in the sun, I see it done by many English artists and when you focus on it to be aware constantly it's doable
