"Tegenover de boom." Westervoort, Holland.

It is fun, painting all kind of night scenes, nocturnes that is.
And I guess Holland is a good place to do it, very light polluted, ....

One of the great advantage is that the light hardly changes so everybody
who's asking what I am doing is a victim, because I am well dressed against
the cold, so after a few minutes you can see they are cooling down,
after another few minutes they try to end the chat, hehehe

I am bad, ... lol.

"Tegenover de boom." Westervoort, Holland.
(Facing the tree.) Oil on panel.
24 x 30 cm.

Rene, Your paintings have a great atmospheric quality to them, especially the nocturnes. I would love to visit your country sometime because I'm of full Dutch heritage. I enjoy seeing where my great grandparents came from.

Rene, as well as being a wonderfully atmospheric painting this is a great idea - to paint plein air at night so that people are not encouraged to hang around and give us all their good advice. Unless you choose to paint near a pub that is!
