It's getting cold out here!!
"Waterkoud" they say in Holland by this weather,...
It's very foggy and the wind is blowing a little so every little heat
is immediately gone, ...
The good side of it is that it's grey, and it stays grey the whole day
good to paint a little more complex and go a little further then usually.
After that I had "Fun Time!" At least that's what I feel
by the sketching these little boats, .. with matchstick an sepia off course.

Brecon Beacons Wales.
As I said yesterday, I've got my work back from Rob,
This was one of them "Brecon Beacons" just an awesome place.
And you have to imagine, for someone who's from Holland or better
The Netherlands, or even better "FLATLAND" never have flown
and within an hour after landing set up his gear to paint these kind
of sites is a bit too much, .. at first it wasn't much but today
with all the rain outside I just give it a go, ... and I think
it has now that tiny feeling of the awesomeness feeling it's gives i.r.l.

Zaltbommel III. Holland.
So here is the last one from the serie of Zaltbommel.
I hadn't got the time anymore yesterday evening to tweak it a little,
yes I do tweak some of my work a little. Mainly because not always
the paint dries fast enough to go over it again, for example here
the white of the house was to dull and the shadow on it to dark.

Zaltbommel.
Been to Zaltbommel today, a little commission work as well
looks like it is commission season now, but I was a nice trip
and I had a good art-book thanks to Rob. These kind of commissions
are a bit tricky, you travel to a city you hardly know and have to
go for it more ore less, ... with a camera it's much easier you
shoot 10,000 photo's and look at home if you hit something.
With painting it's a bit different you only have 3 maybe 4 bullets
so to speak, ...

Two of four. Giesbeek II Holland.
So here is # II I mentioned it earlier in > this < post
that I am paint four seasonal paintings for the owner of this
farm. It's a tricky business because you hardly can see the house.
Also I wanted to give a view how much land surounding it, so a little
distance is needed. I hope winter will reveal some more of the house.

Back!! (again)
First of all, Rob thank you so much for lending me your
book about Kevin Macpherson!! I've read it 3 times in a row
and started very carefully with his palette, and it works!!
There are some drawbacks, one of them is the speed of painting.
You always have to mix in two steps one for the right color and
one for the right value and that cost time. Maybe it will become
a little faster once you learn to do it more. The other is the contrast
that he's talking about, there are days here in Holland that there aren't
any and then it becomes quite hard to do how he does.
But over all it's been a wonderful experience and I intend to use his
palette for a little longer. Painted a lot with it during my absence, this
is one of them, if you want to see them all go visit my website, or wait
a while when I post them here.

Arnhem, Holland.
As I said, it's a bit hard to get going again here in Holland,
after such a nice trip. But I like cityscapes and the buzz of people everywhere
strange I never noticed it, but now I am back I enjoy it just as more.

"Just an other fence." Wales.
Not just an other fence though, .. it's just a few meters
away from the other one that I painted yesterday, ...
I opened the fence, because it's more inviting
but that was exactly what the cows thought also, ...
so there you got it:
Lesson 30.289.388.842.911.249.322.481
Never open a gate for compositional reasons!
(who said that painting was easy!?)
